We finally welcomed our little boy!!!
Connor Ryan Wilkey
Born 6/11/13 at 4:21 A.M.
(Just like his sister. Except she was 4:21 P.M.)
6 lbs. 15 oz.
19 ½ inches
I realize that is two weeks ago! I've been a little preoccupied lately and haven't found the time to post anything here or on facebook. Gear up!!! This is kind of a long post!!!
Connor was due on 6/3/13. Well that day came and went. My Dr. had me scheduled for a tentative induction on the 12th since he was going to be out of town that weekend. But lucky for me we didn't have to wait that long. Connor decided on Monday (the 10th) that it would be ok to get ready to come. I had been having a few contractions in the night and had them throughout the day. Finally in the late afternoon they started coming sooner and harder. At about 11 I texted my dear sweet sister-in-law, Heidi, and she told me I should probably head over to the hospital. She called down to let them know I was coming. Heidi works there in the nursery and is training to be a labor and delivery nurse so we were very blessed to have her there with us!!! Ryan and I made our way to the hospital and fortunately I was the only patient there! Awesome! We got all settled in and hooked up to my IV and monitors and I got an epidural and waited. Fortunately I was progressing on my own without the aid of the lovely pitocen. When I had progressed far enough they called my Dr. to have him come down. The epidural I had received had been a bit spotty all night. Great. Well I may as well not had one because it didn't do any good. I think it's one thing to choose to not have one. But this was crazy! I have nothing against those who choose to go without but I'm a big fat baby and would rather be at least semi comfortable! Yeah didn't work out so well. But we did it! He finally came and we were all able to get a little bit of rest!!
This top picture is of Ava. He looks so much like her! They have the same shaped lips and tons of hair. Though Connor has more hair than Ava!
All cleaned up!
Grandpa Terry promised Ava that when brother came he would bring her to the hospital so she could see him! I had been so worried about how she would react to him and having a new little person in the house. At first she was really quiet and a bit shy but she has warmed right up to him! She absolutely ADORES her brother. I loved getting to have her come and hold her brother!!! It was really sweet!
Ava giving her brother a kiss for the first time! In this picture she is holding a sack full of toys. She brought them with her so she could share with Connor. So SWEET!!!! Grandpa said he couldn't tell her no. Lets be honest, I wouldn't have been able to say no either!!!
Holding Connor! I love the look on her face! She wanted a silly picture!
Our first day home!
It was so nice to get to come home with my baby this time!!! We got to come home Wednesday morning.
Here's a few cute pics since we've been home.
This boy loves his hands and arms. We constantly find him with his arms up! He doesn't like to be swaddled so he can have his arms!!!
